RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY

RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY

At the end of the parotidectomy procedure, Dr. Yousefpour will ensure that the hollow left by the surgical removal of the gland and tumor is filled by transferring a muscle flap (a segment of the nearby sternocleidomastoid muscle).

If this step was not performed by the surgeon, patients may present with a contour irregularity (a hollow). This may be well tolerated, but for some patients who are affected by this aesthetic concern, Dr. Yousefpour can offer his expertise in reconstructive surgery to correct this irregularity.

Upper eyelid gold or platinum implant: Through a small incision, the implant is inserted under the skin of the upper eyelid, allowing eye closure and protection of the cornea.

The techniques used in these cases are:

In cases of contour irregularities:

  • Hyaluronic acid injections

  • Lipofilling (fat injection taken from your thigh or abdomen)

In cases of facial paralysis

  • Forehead (brow) lift in cases of brow ptosis (drooping of the eyebrow)

  • Upper blepharoplasty: This is an aesthetic eyelid lift procedure aimed at reducing excess soft tissue weight in the upper eyelid.

  • Midface lift: This procedure aims to treat sagging of the skin and muscles of the cheek.

  • Cervicofacial lift: This procedure aims to treat sagging of the skin and muscles in the lower face and neck.

  • Cervicofacial lift: This procedure aims to treat sagging of the skin and muscles in the lower face and neck.

  • Commissural suspension (corner of the mouth) using fascia lata

  • Insertion of support in the lower eyelid using a cartilage graft taken from the ear. This helps restore height and support to the eyelid.

  • Upper eyelid gold or platinum implant: Through a small incision, the implant is inserted under the skin of the upper eyelid, allowing eye closure and protection of the cornea.
